Join the West 72nd Street Block Association for their 1st “Spring Community Volunteer Day” on Saturday, May 20 from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Meet with UWS community-based organizations, merchants, electeds, and your neighbors in the community.
They will have a Welcome Table at the south end of Verdi Square where you can stop by to learn more about what they do, ask questions and sign up to volunteer that morning. They plan to spruce up tree beds by removing debris and adding flowers and mulch. The Block Association began a few months ago by conceptualizing and working with NYC Parks “Tree Time” to address 45 tree beds on both the north and south sides of West 72 Street from CPW to Riverside Drive.
