Attend the only public education forum in Manhattan regarding three new referendum questions that will appear on ballots in the November 6th, 2018 general election. The issues are 1) Campaign Finance; 2) Civic Engagement; and 3) Community Boards.
Proposal 2 would allow the Mayor to create a brand new Civic Engagement Commission as well as the vague power to “assign relevant powers and duties of certain other City agencies to the Commission.” Proposal 3 would mandate term-limits for all 2,950 unpaid members of the City’s 59 Community Boards.
Read Manhattan Board President Gale Brewer’s opinion opposing Charter Revision Proposals 2 & 3 and attend the public information meeting to hear the Mayor’s perspective.
