Remarks: Donated by the Grand Street Boys American Legion Post No. 1025 and dedicated on Veteran’s Day in 1954, this commemorative plaque honored war veterans. The Grand Street Boys was originally established as a club in 1921, composed of immigrant, mostly Jewish members, from the Grand Street neighborhood on the Lower East Side of New York. Dedicated to civic and patriotic work, the group opened its first clubhouse in 1926 in the former MacDougal Club, located at 106-108 West 55th Street.
