The New York Times, was up to 20-cents a copy, and the lead headline read: U.S. Sets Control Over Large Sales of Export Grain, lest America ever have a shortage of Corn, Sorghum, Soybeans or Wheat. Deals below 50,000 tons were spared the oversight.
In other news, page 45 noted the Return of Cooper Union Forum Marks Reopening of Renovated 115-Year-Old Building. The Great Hall ceremony to re-dedicate the building was met with “demonstrators jumping on stage” after a nearly-complete two-year renovation. The Forum is noted as “the oldest free public lecture series in the country.”
