“Superman” was this week and the year’s top movie in America, 

On the tube, two freshman series paired off: CBS aired “The Paper Chase” opposite NBC’s “Grandpa Goes to Washington.”

The New York Times lead headline read: ‘Liberation’ Group Says It Has Formed Regime in Cambodia forcing hundreds of foreign officials to flee the country for Thailand. 

In other news, page 21’s Clash is Expected Over M.T.A. Post detailed possible friction between two Governor Carey allies, Stephen Berger being added to the M.T.A. board under Harold L. Fischer, authority chairman.
