Journey back to the 1890s and the heart of Manhattan’s Gilded Age when architect Stanford White and sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens dazzled New York with a brand-new pleasure palace: Madison Square Garden, topped by a scandalous sculpture of the goddess Diana. Art historian and author of The Grandest Madison Square Garden, Suzanne Hinman, explores the work of the two men and their effect on American culture, from their boundary-pushing aesthetics to White’s notorious murder in 1906 on this very rooftop. Refreshments and author’s reception will follow. Click below for tickets or call 212-485-9268 9am-5pm for tickets and tell them you are with Landmark West with code 0313.
