Since 2018, when news of the sale of the ABC campus first made headlines, LANDMARK WEST! began envisioning what might be built on their 2.4-acre site if it were to be redeveloped. After print mailings, a webpage, and countless emails, phone calls, and presentations to neighboring buildings we joined with our co-applicants, Community Board 7, and our consultant, George Janes submitted our full application to the Department of City Planning in November 2023, where it has remained for over two and a half months. We are grateful to our elected officials, Congressman Jerry Nadler, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, Assemblymember Tony Simone, and our tireless Councilmember Gale A. Brewer for showing solidarity and support in asking the Department of City Planning to proceed with certification of our proposal.  READ LETTER HERE

Certification does not mean that this plan is approved, it is just one step in a lengthy approval process that will allow for robust community input at multiple points in the process.  Still ahead: Application Review at City Planning Commission Review Session, Community Board Review, Borough President Review, Pre-Hearing Review/Post Referral, City Planning Commission Review, Post-Hearing Follow Up/Future Votes, City Planning Commission Vote, City Council Review, Maoryal Review, and finally Approval Letter Sent to Responsible Agency…should it all proceed.

While it is uncommon to comment before certification, any member of the public may do so by emailing:  mn_bl@planning.nyc.gov
