Several council members have signed onto a letter penned by City Council Speaker Corey Johnson and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer. Among them, Upper West Side Corey Johnson, Helen Rosenthal, Mark Levine and Bill Perkins, all in support of the need to “fix our zoning rules so they can provide clarity, consistency, and predictability”. In all, eleven electeds call on City Planning Commission chair Marisa Lago to enforce the intent of the Zoning Resolution, close loop holes and make necessary amendments to ensure development practices align with the zoning intent. They correctly call out the work done by community stakeholders and advocacy groups to call out these “illogical” developments. Is your Council Member on the list?
