History:Â Originally the site of a Charles P. H. Gilbert-designed town house built in 1895-1897 for George H. Macy this building replaced the extant C. P. H Gilbert house, which is the reason why this building has one of the smallest footprints of any building designed by Boak & Paris.
The building featured multi-pane steel casement windows for the first time on a Boak & Paris building.
